Tim McOsker, former chief of staff to Los Angeles Mayor Jim Hahn Joins Christensen, Glaser, Fink, Jacobs, Weil & Shapiro, LLP

Los Angeles, California (September 23, 2005) - Tim McOsker , former chief of staff to Los Angeles Mayor Jim Hahn has joined the law firm of Christensen, Glaser, Fink, Jacobs, Weil & Shapiro, LLP as a partner. Mr. McOsker's practice will focus on governmental, regulatory and administrative law, particularly in the areas of land use, project entitlement and environmental compliance and related matters. As the Chief of Staff, Mr. McOsker was responsible, on behalf of the Mayor, for the implementation of policy and management of a City with over 35,000 employees, 40 Departments and Commissions and a budget of over 5 billion dollars. Before serving Mayor Hahn as chief of staff, Mr. McOsker was the Chief Deputy City Attorney for the City of Los Angeles, managing the day to day operations of a law practice with more than 400 lawyers and clients as diverse as the Department of Water and Power, the Los Angeles World Airports, the Port of Los Angeles, the City Controller and the Los Angeles City Council.
Earlier in his career, Mr. McOsker was in private practice as a partner and manager in a municipal law firm, during which he served as the City Attorney for the Cities of Manhattan Beach, Downey, Lomita and Bellflower, as well as Special Counsel to a number of other jurisdictions in California. He also worked as a Deputy City Attorney of Long Beach. "We are extremely pleased that Tim McOsker chose to join our firm," said Terry Christensen, Managing Partner of Christensen Glaser. Mr. McOsker received his J.D. from UCLA and has a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame. For the past eighteen years, Mr. McOsker's legal practice and public service have focused on complex governmental issues in a wide variety of areas, including in economic development, planning, land use, transportation, infrastructure construction, and public safety.
